Tour Itinerary (10 days & 9 nights )
DAY
1 Sat. :ARRIVAL DAY: WELCOME TO ISTANBUL
Today is the arrival day. A private transfer awaits at
the Ataturk International Airport. Today we will meet
our guide and perhaps go out for a meal and a few drinks.
DAY 2 ISTANBUL CITY TOUR (B.
D.)
This morning after breakfast, we partake in a fully guided
tour of the only city to span two continents, Europe and
Asia. We will visit the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Saint
Sophia Museum and Hippodrome.
DAY 3 ISTANBUL TO GALLIPOLI (B
+ LB. D.)
Today we depart Istanbul and drive to the World War I
Battlefields of Gallipoli. We stop for lunch in a nearby
town and this afternoon we are guided round this now serene
site. We will commemorate the fallen in an emotional day
as we visit Anzac Cove, Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials,
Johnston’s Jolly, The Nek and the Anzac Museum.
DAY 4 GALLIPOLI TO KUSADASI VIA
TROY & PERGAMUM (B. D.)
After breakfast, we drive for the famed ruins of Troy
and the Trojan Horse for a fully guided tour. We continue
South along the Aegean Coast for lunch in the small village
of Bergama. This afternoon sees us exploring the ruins
of Pergamum, Tonight we rest in Kusadasi.
DAY 5 EPHESUS TOUR - PAMUKKALE
(B. D.)
Absorb yourself in history today with a guided tour of
Ephesus. Feel the mystical atmosphere of the city and
stadium where chariot and horse races were once held.
Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey. At the carpet
village we learn how the carpets are made by hand and
what determines their value. Overnight Pamukkale.
DAY 6 PAMUKKALE - KONYA(B. D.)
Tour the magnificent white calcium terraces of Pamukkale,
followed by the ancient city of Hierapolis. Take a dip
in the hot springs that were used in Roman times for their
therapeutic powers and then continue to Konya. Overnight
Konya.
DAY 7 KONYA TO CAPPADOCIA (B)
Today we visit Mevlana Museum. The Mevlevi order of whirling
dervishes is a mystic group whose members are followers
of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi. We then visit ancient Silk
Road Caravanserais. Afternoon trek through the wildy beautiful
Ihlara Valley and explore one of the largest underground
cities, Derinkuyu. Tonight, don’t miss the optional traditional
Turkish folklore evening! Overnight Cappadocia.
DAY 8 CAPPADOCIA TOUR (B. D.)
Marvel at the lunar landscape of
Cappadocia through Goreme Valley, the fairy chimneys,
Uchisar castle and more. Overnight Cappadocia.
DAY 9 CAPPADOCIA TO ISTANBUL VIA ANKARA (B)
In the Nations capital, Ankara, we visit the award winning
Ancient Civilisation’s Museum. Overnight Istanbul.
DAY 10 TOUR FINISHES (B)
After breakfast, we bid farewell to our new found friends
and guide as our tour cocludes.
