Tour Itinerary (15 days & 14 nights )
DAY
1 : Sat. : ARRIVAL DAY: WELCOME TO ISTANBUL
Today is the arrival day. A private transfer awaits at
the Ataturk International Airport. Today we will meet
our guide and perhaps go out for a meal and a few drinks.
DAY 2 ISTANBUL CITY TOUR (B.
D.)
This morning after breakfast, we partake in a fully guided
tour of the only city to span two continents, Europe and
Asia. We will visit the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Saint
Sophia Museum and Hippodrome.
DAY
3 ISTANBUL TO GALLIPOLI (B + LB. D.)
Today we depart Istanbul and drive to the World War I
Battlefields of Gallipoli. We stop for lunch in a nearby
town and this afternoon we are guided round this now serene
site. We will commemorate the fallen in an emotional day
as we visit Anzac Cove, Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials,
Johnstons Jolly, The Nek and the Anzac Museum.
DAY 4
GALLIPOLI TO KUSADASI VIA TROY & PERGAMUM (B . D.
)
After breakfast, we drive for the famed ruins
of Troy and the Trojan Horse for a fully guided tour.
We continue South along the Aegean Coast for lunch in
the small village of Bergama. This afternoon sees us exploring
the ruins of Pergamum, Tonight we rest in Kusadasi.
DAY 5 EPHESUS TOUR (B. D. )
One of the best preserved ruins on Turkey awaits today
as we are guided round the ruins of Ephesus. We will see
the Celcius Library, Grand Theatre as well as the oldest
advertisement known to man. Today, we will also visit
the House of the Virgin Mary (supposedly where she lived
her final days), Cave of the Seven Sleepers and Temple
of Artemis (one of the seven wonders of the ancient world).
DAY 6 KUSADASI TO PAMUKKALE (B
+ D)
We head East this morning for the calcium terraces of
Pamukkale. We also visit the ruins of Hierapolis overnight
in pamukkale.
DAY 7 SAKLIKENT
GORGE TO FETHIYE
(B )
Leaving Pamukkale, today we visit a carpet village and
learn how Turkish carpets are made by hand, what determines
their value and the historical and cultural context in
which this folk art has blossomed. Afterwards we visit
Saklikent Gorge, the longest and deepest canyon in Turkey.
Walk through icy water and battle numerous small waterfalls
set in sculpted limestone canyon walls. Take a tube ride
down the rapids or relax on the platforms. Overnight Fethiye
DAY 8 FETHIYE
BOAT TRIP (B. L.)
A lazy day boat cruise leaving from Fethiye to 12 Islands.
Board the boat for a day you won’t forget. Swim in the
Blue Cave before stepping ashore at Butterfly Valley.
Lunch is served on the boat before we stop at St Nicholas
Island. A swim at “Cold Spring Bay’’ where fresh water
leaks into the sea, is most refreshing!! In the afternoon
sail back to Fethiye. Overnight Fethiye.
DAY 9 FETHIYE (B.)
Today you have a free day to do whatever you choose. Paraglide,
swim, recover, relax or take a diving tour. Overnight
Fethiye.
DAY 10 MYRA - PHASELIS - ANTALYA
(B )
Start the day with a panoramic view following the Mediterranean
coast. This is a chill out day. We will visit ancient
Myra, which is the hometown of St. Nicholas (Father Christmas).
Phaselis is our next stop, a beautiful ancient harbour
city where you also have the chance to take a dip in the
sea. Overnight Antalya.
DAY 11 ANTALYA TO KONYA (B +
D)
Begin today with a tour of the ancient ruins of Aspendos,
which is known for one of the best preserved theatres
of Asia Minor, this impressive theatre is still used today.
We then visit and enjoy the natural beauty of the Tinaztepe
sink hole and cave. Overnight Konya.
DAY 12 KONYA - CAPPADOCIA TOUR
(B)
Today we visit the Mevlana Museum. The Mevlevi order of
whirling dervishes is a mystic group whose members are
followers of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi - a great Turkish
poet and mystic, the brotherhood is based in Konya where
its founder is buried. En-route, we stop at an ancient
Silk Road Caravanseray, before we trek through the wildly
beautiful Ihlara Valley and explore Derinkuyu Underground
City. Tonight, don’t miss the optional traditional Turkish
folklore evening! Overnight Cappadocia
DAY 13 CAPPADOCIA (B. D.)
Marvel at the lunar landscape of Cappadocia with a fully
guided tour of Goreme Valley, the fairy chimneys, Uchisar
castle and more. Overnight Cappadocia.
DAY 14 CAPPADOCIA TO ISTANBUL
VIA ANKARA (B)
Today we visit the nation’s capital, Ankara, with a tour
of the Ancient Civilisation Museum. overnight in Istanbul.
DAY 15 TOUR FINISHES (B)
All good things must come to an end and transfer to the
airport
